Introducing some of the beautiful souls joining this journey:
Tamara Bess – Co-Producer
Tamara Bess is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and an active spokeswoman and advocate against domestic violence. For 20 years she has been raising her unique voice to empower victims to free themselves. Her perspective comes from her own travels through heartache, during which time she remained ever-vigilant about her healing in spite of her circumstances.
Tamara also has a theater background, having performed in Brigadoon, Bye Bye Birdie, Good Company (a traveling musical revue), and several independent theater productions. She fiercely believes that merging the conversation about healing with the creative expression of theater will bring about a seminal vehicle for powerful, impactful social change.

Mike Strader – Husband and Awesome Supporter (plus he’s good with numbers)
So much gratitude to the man in my life who has always, always supported my dreams and with whom I have shared my greatest adventures! No matter which way I went, or what I wanted to try out, he was always there 100%, urging me to do what made me happy. He also happens to be really good with finances, so he has been inducted to help the Skins Team with anything having to do with money, implementing fundraising strategies and keeping the production on budget.
Christina Dunbar – Creative Advisor
Christina Dunbar is an actress, poet, and performer who’s been called “sexy, soulful, and funny all rolled into one.” As a sought-after spoken word artist and speaker she’s been featured on Business Heroine, Girl Talk HQ, and Awaken The Rebel LIVE.
When Christina isn’t performing, she’s mentoring other artists and messengers. Christina is creator of “She Takes The Stage,” a program for women ready to step into the spotlight with their story. She has produced and directed shows that have graced the Bootleg, Whitefire and CAP theatres in LA.
Christina is currently in production for her one-woman show, Dirty Me Divine, which hit the stage in May of 2015. To find out more about Christina visit her website: http://christinadunbar.com/about/
Marie Carolyn Gatus – Dancer/Choreographer, Health and Life Coach
What moves you? To me, movement is everything. In order to progress towards greater health and ultimately to transform our lives, we have to constantly move, figure out what works and what doesn’t work, and keep evolving; whether that’s through moving our bodies physically, choosing the right foods that move well through our digestive system, giving positive energy towards our relationships, putting our ideas in motion towards our life purpose and creativity, or flowing with a graceful spirit throughout our lives.

Deborah Edler Brown – Poet, performer, storyteller and teacher
I cannot express enough how much my friendship and work with Deborah has changed my life, and I would credit her with being the midwife to this work I am birthing. We have been writing, sharing for over 20 years together. She is a true soul sister – with so much gratitude and love.
Her work has appeared in various anthologies and in such journals as Nimrod, Kalliope, Trump, MagnaPoets, LoudMouth, Falling Star, Radius and PoeticDiversity.
She was a long-time reporter for Time magazine and is co-author of Grandparents as Parents: A Survival Guide to Raising a Second Family. Deborah was also the 1997 Head-to-Head Haiku Champion, a member of the 1998 Los Angeles National Poetry Slam Team, and a performer on the 2000 Slam America Bus Tour.
A well-known voice on the Los Angeles poetry scene, Deborah has told stories and poems in libraries, bars, theaters, and bookstores across the country. She holds a degree in Creative Writing from Brown University and was the 2005 recipient of Kalliope’s Sue Saniel Elkind poetry prize. Her story, “Such Stuff as Dreams,” was recently nominated for a Pushcart Prize in Fiction.
Deborah has been teaching private creative writing workshops since 2005. And by day, she makes readers through the adult education division of LAUSD.
Her passion for words — written, spoken, and read — infuse everything she does. After all, as she likes to say, “Mere words make magic.”
